Becoming a Full Member

Full membership in PEN Center USA is open to professional writers, journalists, editors and translators who have a professionally published body of work.

Anyone interested in becoming a Full member must submit an application in addition to a résumé of published work and the annual Full membership fee of $79. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Becoming an Associate Member

Associate membership is open to anyone who supports the work of PEN Center USA. Anyone interested in becoming an Associate member must submit an application and the annual Associate membership fee of $50. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Becoming a Student Member

Student membership is open to anyone who supports the work of PEN Center USA and is currently enrolled in an
educational institution. Anyone interested in becoming a Student member must submit an application in addition
to a valid transcript or letter of enrollment from their respective institution’s registrar and the annual Student
membership fee of $25.

Becoming a Bookseller Member

Bookseller memberships are open to any person able to prove current employment through a bookstore, distributor or publishing house. Anyone interested in becoming a Bookseller member must submit an application in addition to proof of employment (paystub, letter from supervisor) and annual Bookseller membership fee of $15.
